A Wedding Film Shot at Burning Man

We produced a wedding film unlike most others we've shot — set against the backdrop of Burning Man, in the middle of the Black Rock Desert. This wasn't a traditional wedding with a venue and a guest list following a program. It was something closer to a love story unfolding in the dust and light of one of the most unconventional places on earth.

A Different Kind of Love Story

Burning Man strips away almost everything a typical wedding relies on — no manicured venue, no controlled lighting, no predictable schedule. What's left is raw: two people, an enormous open landscape, and a community built entirely around radical self-expression. Shooting here meant leaning into that chaos rather than fighting it — letting the dust, the art installations, and the wide-open desert sky become part of the story instead of obstacles to work around.

Finding the Story in the Chaos

A wedding film usually follows a familiar structure — ceremony, vows, reception. Here, the structure came from the environment itself. We followed the couple through the playa as the day moved, catching quiet, unscripted moments alongside the surreal backdrop of art cars, massive sculptures, and a horizon that never quite looks real. The result feels less like a wedding video and more like a short film about two people who chose to get married somewhere that reflected exactly who they are.

Why This One Stays With Us

Every wedding is personal, but some settings ask more of both the couple and the crew — physically, creatively, logistically. This one did all three. It's the kind of project that reminds us why we love this work: not every love story looks the same, and the best ones are the ones that don't try to.
