Another location, another conversation. This time we set up on the beach for a relaxed, conversational podcast-style shoot featuring Sasha Nezlobin and Semyon Slepakov โ open sky, ocean in the background, and none of the constraints of a studio set.
The Setup
We ran the same three-camera setup we typically use for this format โ wide shots to hold the space and the mood, and tighter angles to catch reactions and small moments in between. Shooting on sand and in open daylight brings its own challenges โ wind, shifting light, and no fixed points to anchor gear โ so everything had to be planned to stay mobile and adaptable throughout the shoot.
Why It Worked
An outdoor, unscripted setting like this only works if the crew stays out of the way. The goal is always the same: let the conversation feel natural, and let the location add atmosphere without ever becoming a distraction. The beach did exactly that โ casual, open, and different enough from a typical podcast set to give the episode its own identity.
