How Much Does an 8-Hour Content Shoot Day Cost at Our Studio

๐Ÿ“ Los Angeles, CA
8-hour content shoot day at Ivan Rakov Studio โ€” Los Angeles

One of the most common questions we get from clients is: "Why does a full shoot day cost $2,400?"

It's a completely fair question. Looking at the number alone, it might seem like a lot. But once you break down what's actually included and what the client walks away with, it becomes clear this isn't just eight hours of an operator's time โ€” it's access to a fully equipped production.

What's Included in a Shoot Day

Studio

The shoot takes place in our Los Angeles studio, already set up and ready for content production. Clients have access to:

This makes it possible to switch backdrops and create the feeling of shooting in several different locations โ€” without ever leaving the building.

Video Equipment

Content is produced using multiple cameras. The standard setup includes:

This lineup allows us to simultaneously capture close-ups, medium shots, wide shots, product detail, interviews, podcasts, and vertical content for Reels, TikTok, and Shorts โ€” meaning every scene can be edited multiple ways without ever having to reshoot. The same setup and lighting can also be used to capture professional stills alongside video, so clients can walk away with a matching set of photos from the same session.

Lighting

Quality lighting is one of the biggest factors separating professional content from amateur content. We shoot with:

Along with softboxes, strip boxes, a beauty dish, Fresnel modifiers, barndoors, C-stands, light stands, and sandbags โ€” giving us the range to produce anything from clean, classic business content to more cinematic scenes with color accents and mood lighting.

Audio

Most social content today is built around talking-head, interview, or podcast formats. For audio, we use the Zoom F3, DJI Mic, lavalier microphones, Shure SM7B (for podcasts), and a Rodecaster Pro โ€” giving clients clean, professional sound without needing to rent additional gear.

Production Team

Throughout the shoot, our team handles lighting setup, camera setup, audio setup, recording, image and audio quality monitoring, equipment management, and fast setup changes between scenes. The client doesn't need to think about the technical side โ€” they can focus entirely on the content itself.

What You Can Shoot in a Single Day

In 8 hours, it's realistic to capture:

In many cases, a single shoot day provides a business with enough content to last 1โ€“3 months.

What the Client Walks Away With

After the shoot, clients receive all raw video files, all audio files, multi-camera footage, studio-quality sound, professional lighting โ€” and the ability to either edit the content themselves or hand it off to their own editing team.

A single shoot day typically produces 100+ short vertical videos, several long-form YouTube videos, ad content, and material for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Facebook.

The Simple Math

A shoot day costs $2,400. If 100 short videos come out of that day, the cost per video is just $24. If the shoot produces 150 clips, the cost drops to around $16 per video โ€” and that's for professionally shot, multi-camera content with quality lighting and studio sound.

The Bottom Line

When a client pays for a shoot day, they're not paying for eight hours of someone holding a camera. They're getting a professional studio, multi-camera production, high-end equipment, lighting, sound, an experienced crew, and the ability to walk away with a massive volume of content in a single day.

That's why many companies prefer to run one full shoot day and walk away with dozens โ€” or hundreds โ€” of pieces of content, rather than running small shoots every week. For brands, experts, coaches, entrepreneurs, and companies actively growing their social presence, this approach is usually the most efficient โ€” both in cost and in time.
