Not every project starts with a client brief. This one started with an idea: build a short series of product-style video content around Wilson tennis rackets, on spec, to show what that kind of collaboration could look like. It was never picked up by the brand โ but the work itself is exactly the kind of content we'd want to make if it had been.
Why We Make Spec Work
Spec projects are a chance to build the case for a collaboration before it exists โ showing a brand what their product could look like through our lens, without waiting for a formal go-ahead. It's a bet on the work itself, and it's how a lot of the best commercial relationships start.
The Approach
We treated the rackets the way we'd treat any hero product โ clean, controlled lighting, deliberate framing, movement that highlights build and material rather than just showing the product sitting still. The goal was content that could sit comfortably in a real ad campaign, not just a portfolio piece.
Showing the Work
Even though this particular series never went anywhere with Wilson, we think it's worth showing โ it's a solid example of the kind of product content we produce, and proof that we build real campaign-quality work even without a client attached.
